THIS weekend's Glastonbury Festival may be dominating the headlines, but there is an event closer to home that looks set to be one of the highlights of this year's live music calendar.
The Secret Garden Party (SGP) – staged at Abbot's Ripton from July 24 to 27 – is widely considered the best kept secret of the festival world. The "boutique" event grows in popularity each year, with last year's acts including New Young Pony Club, Is
obel Campbell and Mark Lanegan.

This year will see disco icon Grace Jones take to the stage as one of the headliners of the four-day event, an exclusive UK festival appearance that will be backed up with some of the best names in emerging music, such as Sons and Daughters and current NME darlings Glasvegas.

With some the big festivals such as Glastonbury seemingly losing momentum, smaller festivals are becoming more popular with every passing summer, and SGP is perhaps one of the best in the country.

Also on the bill will be Morcheeba, Little Ones, Florence And The Machine, Infidels, Cage The Elephant and Officer Kicks.

Located deep in the countryside near Huntingdon, the event prides itself on creating an intimate atmosphere that's chock-full of colourful characters, fancy dress, and of course, live music.

Tickets, costing £125 for the four days, are available now at www.secretgardenparty.com

The price is all-inclusive, and youth tickets, costing £100 are available to 14 to 17-year-olds. Under-14s go free.
