Bursting on to the stage with a fireball of mind-blowing sounds, garage rock act The Subways made a welcome return to Peterborough on Monday (May 26) when their live show hit city venue, The Cresset.
Hailing from Welwyn Garden City, Herfordshire, the band, who were first spotted by Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, presented a catalogue of brand new tracks from their upcoming album release, All or Nothing.
Support came from local acoustic singer Conor Owen, Battle of the Bands champions, A Girl called Kate and Irish progressive rock act In Case of Fire.
The Subways have been in the business since early 2005 and just three years since their debut release, they have earned a huge fan base across the world.
Kicking off the show with an electric performance of new song, Kalifornia, the pounding of drums and vibrant guitar riffs lured the crowd to dance the night away.
After taking a short break from music, front man Billy Lunn's recent throat operation could have cost him his career. Fortunately, he has made a full recovery and is more enthusiastic about performing live than he has ever been before.
As bassist Charlotte Cooper swept her wild blonde locks across the room, a cloud of euphoria suffocated the crowd when The Subways' exciting live proposition closed with an unforgettable performance of Rock and Roll Queen. Don't miss their new studio album, All or Nothing when it hits the shelves at the end of June.
