Eight rock gigs planned for Peterborough

MONTHS of planning have gone in to what promises to be one of the biggest and best punk rock spectaculars Peterborough has ever seen.
Peterborough's Straight To Hell promoter, and singer with The Ruined, Shaun Phillips, has put together not one, not two, but eight bills of riff-laden music to take place in two Peterborough city centres venues for seven straight days next week.
The highlight of Infest 08 will be the visit of Agnostic Front to the Met Lounge, in Bridge Street, on Monday, as it is one of only four shows the New York hardcore punks are doing in the UK this month.
Formed by guitarist Vinnie Stigma in 1980, the band have gone through a number of personnel changes. However, Vinnie and singer Roger Miret remain.
Support on this bill comes from 1000 Hertz, The Smoking Hearts and Coach Calhoun. Tickets cost £12 in advance now from the Met Lounge reception. Doors are at 7pm.
