Popular authors line up for festival
DETAILS have been released of some of the attractions set to delight audiences at Oundle Festival of Literature’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Numerous authors and events have been lined up for the festival, which will take place between March 7 and March 18 at various venues.
They include author Alexander McCall Smith, who wrote the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series and the new Corduroy Mansions novels, who will be entertaining the audience with the latest tales of his characters.
And local poet Nic Aubury, who is a classics teacher at Oundle School, will perform poetry from his new book Small Talk.
There will also be A Night at The Bull with Charles Collingwood, who plays Brian Aldridge in Radio 4’s The Archers.
He has also appeared in Midsomer Murders, Inspector Morse and London’s Burning and is renowned for his after dinner speeches. There will be only 120 tickets on sale.
The festival will also feature a poetry takeaway where Edinburgh Fringe-experineced poets will be on hand to write that special poem for a loved one, or a verse about an event in an individual’s life.
The poetry chefs will perform and deliver a hand-written, boxed copy of your poem free of charge within 10 minutes. For full details of all events see www.oundlelitfest.org
