HIT musical Hairspray provides the platform for talented Peterborough pupils to impress on the school stage.
Around 100 performing arts pupils from The Voyager Academy will perform the Broadway success at the school this week.
The production is set to build upon the strength of last year’s performance of Grease, which saw a custom painted car body lowered onto the stage.
Shows are at 7pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and will include classic musical numbers such as Good Morning Baltimore and You Can’t Stop The Beat.
Vice principal at The Voyager, Moira Green, said: “This is our flagship event for the year - our stage productions are always fantastic, but this year our students have really risen to the challenge to make this bigger and better than before.
“We have some incredibly talented performing artists that regularly ‘wow’ our audience. It is sometimes hard to believe that we are watching school pupils perform and not seasoned stage performers”.
Tickets are now available from the academy’s reception and are priced at £4 for adults and £3 for children. Tickets will also be available on the door. For more information call 01733 383888.
