Stanground Flower Festival will bloom into action this weekend with a two-day extravaganza of beautiful arrangements and some of the area's finest choral music.

Stanground Flower Festival will bloom into action this weekend with a two-day extravaganza of beautiful arrangements and some of the area's finest choral music.The festival, which takes place at Stanground St John's Church, in Chapel Street, kicks off tomorrow with stalls, a raffle and refreshments all weekend.

On Saturday, there will be a choral evensong at St John's to celebrate the patronal festival of the church, lasting about an hour, from 4.30pm

It will include some of the church's finest choral music, sung by a mixed chamber choir and directed by the church's own talented organist, Mr Searles.

Then, on Sunday, fresh from their success on Songs of Praise, Southfields Junior School Choir will sing from 9.30am during the morning service under the leadership of choirmaster Andrew De Silva.

Stanground Flower Festival takes place on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, and on Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm.
