Apprentice week events at college
STAFF at Peterborough Regional College will be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with a jam packed agenda of activities.
Members of the college’s apprenticeship team will host events throughout the week, including a “bake off” competition and information stands giving the students a chance to check local vacancies.
Star of TV’s The Apprentice, Lee McQueen, will be visiting the college on Tuesday.
Lee shot to fame after winning season four of “The Apprentice” and landing himself the sought after £100,000-a-year job, working alongside Lord Sugar.
More recently, Lee set up his own venture, Raw Talent Academy, with the aim of placing internal sales academies within businesses and encouraging them to look at the wider UK talent and not just graduates.
On Wednesday, the college’s training and placement advisors will spend the day trying out a variety of apprentice roles.
Five staff will try their hand at hairdressing, childcare, motor vehicle engineering, with one team member “fired” after each session.
