Enjoy Club night at the Met with Chiefs support act

YORKSHIRE’S Club Smith are opening up for Kaiser Chiefs on their huge UK tour.

They take a break from the run of shows for a gig in Peterborough at the Met Lounge on Wednesday, 1 February.

And to encourage Peterborough people to come out and check the new band then the venue is offering free entry to anybody sharing the same surname as the band (i.e. Smith!).

Promoter Steve Jason said: “It’s always hard to get people to come out and check out a new band - no matter how good they are, and Club Smith are very good indeed.

“A definite must see if you’re a fan of UK indie guitar music so we thought that by giving anybody with the same surname free entry then it might help to get people along.

“We’re aware that Smith is actually the most popular surname in the UK and the idea might backfire on us massively but sometimes you’ve got to take the risk!”

Doors open at 8pm. Advance tickets are priced at £5 and are available from The Met 01733 566100 or online at www.ticketweb.co.uk

People with the surname Smith (with I.D) get in for free on the night, and bring one guest in with, them provided they arrive by 9pm.

Tu Amore, The Cerrados and In Archives play the Bridge Street venue tonight.

The Fleeting Minds, The Harrington Blues and Simple Machines are all on the bill on January 27.
