Circus fun arrives in March for Valentine’s Day
ONE of the UK’s oldest traditional circuses arrives in March with a Valentine’s Day special this week.
Circus Ginnett, which has been wowing crowds across the country since the 1800s, is set to perform eight shows at the Priory Golf Centre in Wimblington, March, from Tuesday until Sunday, February 19.
Hand balancing, aerial acrobats, juggling, whip cracking and funny dogs are all part of this year’s show.
Circus Ginnett reopened after a long break in 2011.
Director Patrick Austin was so impressed with the feedback the circus received that he decided to continue his 200-year-old family tradition with a new show with top class international artists.
These include Irish clown Baz, juggler Bobby from Bulgaria and trapeze artist Sylvia from Switzerland.
Director Patrick said: “The long family history and the friendly image makes Circus Ginnett truly unique entertainment. As soon as you step into our big top you will feel the magic called circus.”
Shows are at 7pm on Tuesday; 5pm Wednesday; 3pm and 7pm Thursday and Friday; 3pm and 6pm Saturday and 3pm on the Sunday.
Because the circus opens on Valentine’s Day all couples can enter for the price of one - and tickets for the opening show cost £5.
The circus then moves to Whittlesey from February 22 to 26.
