Winter exhibition opens at Norman Cross Art Gallery

WARM up this weekend with a visit to the cosy confines of the Norman Cross Art Gallery.

The gallery is showcasing work by Derbyshire’s Ann Pollard, Jade Bambrook and, a new addition, Allyson Hobbs-Beckford.

Jamaican born artist Allyson is a teacher by profession and enjoys expressing her passion and her Caribbean roots through exotic colour – just the sort to cheer visitors up and brighten those grey winter days.

Museum owner Derek Lopez said: “Ann is now a regular exhibitor to the gallery, with a following of collectors of her much-appreciating work.

“Ann’s work is of British landscapes and townscenes, with a special commission of Stamford titled By The George, a night time shoppers snow scene.”

Jade exhibits her unique glass artworks inspired by abstraction, distortion and colour.

Derek added: “The gallery is pleased to offer these artists’ work expressed in their individual styles, in oils, acrylic, and glasswork, providing a blaze of colour to brighten up this winter exhibition.

The exhibition starts tomorrow and will continue until March.

The gallery is open on Fridays (11am to 3pm) and Saturdays (11am to 4pm); other times by appointment on 01733 245189 or e-mail contact@normancrossgallery.com
