However, 21-year-old Aston took time out from his hectic schedule to speak of his nerves ahead of the single's release and his joy at his upcoming appearance in Peterborough.

Speaking from the offices of Sony, in London, he said: "I'm really excited about Beat Again's release, because of the amount of air play it has been getting.

"It's been on Radio One, One Xtra, Heart, everywhere, and I think it's amazing. The music channels have also been playing the video numerous times."

"Doing the video was very tough and hard going, but I really enjoyed it and I think you can tell we were working very hard to get everything right in the whole routine.

"Beat Again was a joint decision with the record company (Epic Records), our management and us and we all thought it was a fantastic record.

"I've got my fingers crossed, everyone wasn't to have a number one song. We've had success with Hero, the X Factor finalist song, but this is JLS.

"To get a number one would mean the world to us, but top five would be unbelievable. Peterborough has given me so much love and support, but this is where the real test begins."

In past few months, JLS, which stands for Jack the Lad Swing, have played in front of thousands of fans in a number of high profile concerts, including Radio One's Big Weekend, in Swindon.

However, their most enjoyable concert was the Capital FM Summerball at the Emirates Stadium, in London, where they were given a huge reception from 50,000 fans.

"Some artists who have been around for years haven't done stadium gigs, so for us it was unreal. I have never felt a buzz like it and people were saying we were the highlight of the show," added Aston.
