SEMINAL English punk band The Damned are the big headline act at this year's Infest Peterborough 2009.There's not long until the 10- day music festival kicks off, so don't miss the chance to get one of the all bargain all inclusive tickets.
The Damned play The Park (under it's new name Club Revolution) on August 9 – and advance tickets cost 12 – but it's possible to get a ticket for 25 to see 10 other shows as well.
As one of the most influential outfits to emerge from the '70s punk scene, The Damned are famed for their powerful live shows.
After scoring a number of late '70s firsts – including the first British punk single with New Rose and the first British punk band to tour the States – the band went on to maintain their formidable live reputation, and show no signs of slowing down.
After more than three decades in the business, the band have yet to desert the sense of humour that separated them from many of their punk peers.
Even if you are only familiar with the newer punk bands (some of whom are also on the Infest Peterborough 2009 bill), this is rare occasion to catch The Damned in such a small venue.
Tickets for the Peterborough gig are on sale at www.thepark4music.com.
Also lined up to play Infest Peterborough 2009 are The Creepshow, H2O and SNFU.
As well as the first-class headliners, the festival is also a showcase for some of the region's best new bands.
Again, head to www.thepark4music.com to see the day splits, and tickets for these individual shows range from 5 to 10.
Entry is open to over 14s, but all under 18s must be accompanied. Infest Peterborough 2009 runs from August 5 to August 15.
