Fahrenheit festival cancelled

The 2009 Fahrenheit Music & Arts Festival, due to be staged in March this weekend (7-9 August) has been cancelled.

The 2009 Fahrenheit Music & Arts Festival, due to be staged in March this weekend (7-9 August) has been cancelled. The festival was set to be fully supported by 90 bands from around the UK. But organisers have decided to cancel this year's festival at the Skylark Showground in March, Cambridgeshire.

Blaming poor ticket sales and the recession, show organisers stated that the show could not go ahead this year.

Skylark Showground chairman, Paul Salter said "Of course we are saddened by this last minute news but we are in probably the worst recession ever known and we sympathise with the film and record industry officials".

"On a brighter note," said Paul "all of our own shows are having an excellent year with very strong support coming from mums, dads and children in the Fenland community, so although the national picture looks gloomy the local shows are doing extremely well!"
