Ancient skills taught at site

THERE is a chance to learn more about the technology and challenges faced by our ancestors many thousands of years ago.

At the Bronze Age conservation camp at Flag Fen, Peterborough, there will be a week of activities that will be fun for all the family. It starts on February 13 and runs each day from 10am to 4pm.

Each day, costumed re-enactors will be on site demonstrating how technology was developed to deal with life’s little problems during the Bronze Age and Roman era.

Each day there will be chances to try out a technology trail around the site, enter a competition for the most ingenious ancient machine, and try themed family craft activities.

There’ll also be bookable workshops every weekday morning demonstrating ancient skills such as traditional dyeing, knotting, pottery, or warming up a Roman cookery pot.
