Summer show is a roaring success

A CITY school became awash with colour and costume when tots brought cultures from around the world into Peterborough.

A CITY school became awash with colour and costume when tots brought cultures from around the world into Peterborough. From the bright lights of London to the plains of Africa, youngsters at Peterborough High School Nursery went globe-trotting as part of their Summer Show.

The audience were treated to a wonderful display of song and dance that took them on a magnificent journey around the world, ending “down under” in Australia.

And the youngsters’ rousing renditions of Frre Jacques and Leo the Lion brought a huge round of applause from the proud parents and grandparents in the audience.

Manager of the nursery in Thorpe Road Pauline Bellamy added that every one of the children had done a marvellous job.

She said: “The children did extremely well to learn the words and actions to almost 20 songs, and some of them had dance routines as well.

“Everyone has had a great time learning about the different countries, and the dressing up was a lot of fun too.

“The parents and grandparents should be very proud as all the children did their bit on the big stage. Well done to everyone.”

More than 80 children took part, making the show no easy thing to put together, and all the staff and children were thanked for the tremendous amount of work that they put into the production.

Now tots and their families have the Prep Summer Beach Party to look forward to, with a visit from the Raptor Foundation and an owl display on the agenda.

The event is for children in the prep department and at the nursery, and their families.

Tickets can be purchased from the school for the event on Sunday, July 5 between 2pm to 4pm in the Marquee.

All funds raised will go to the NSPCC.
