Pupils and staff bid farewell to Dawn
YOUNGSTERS and staff at Bretton Woods Pre-school playgroup have bid a fond farewell to a leader who has notched up nearly 30 years of service.
YOUNGSTERS and staff at Bretton Woods Pre-school playgroup have bid a fond farewell to a leader who has notched up nearly 30 years of service.Childcare worker Dawn Ramsey spent 24 years working at the Bretton pre-school before it was closed and then a further three as co-ordinator at Eyrescroft Pre-School, its replacement.
This year, she reluctantly announced her decision to move on and she was given a leaving bash to remember.
Mrs Ramsey (50), from Walton, Peterborough, said: "The girls at Eyrescroft have been like a family to me for many years.
"But it was a positive move for me and I felt we had built up a strong enough team there to be able to stand on their own."
Her former colleagues said they were sorry to see their former boss leave.
Senior assistant Vicky Wright said: "It has been an honour and a privilege to have her as my boss."
