Peterborough North East: Policing team panel sets new priorities

STAMPING out speeding and burglaries are among the new priorities for a neighbourhood police team.

STAMPING out speeding and burglaries are among the new priorities for a neighbourhood police team.The decision followed the Peterborough North East Urban team's panel meeting during which the priorities for the next three months were set as:

Speeding in Arundel Road and Dover Road, Walton and Hodgson Avenue, in Werrington.

Burglaries in Gunthorpe.

Anti-social behaviour in Werrington Centre, Skaters Way and Moreland Court, Werrington.

The team covers Werrington, Walton, Gunthorpe and Paston.

Sergeant Alan Bradshaw said: "Residents and business representatives in the area have had their opportunity to get involved in the decisions surrounding the policing of their area.

"The new priorities will see the team continue to carry out work to target speeding and burglaries.

"We want to make Peterborough a safer place for residents and visitors alike."

Sgt Bradshaw added: "We have had a number of successes over the past three months with regards to tackling crime in the Peterborough North East Urban area."
