Thorpe Primary School is hoping the community will come along and join in the fun at its summer fete. The event at the school in Atherstone Avenue, Netherton, will be on Friday, July 3, after school, from 3.15pm onwards.

And all money raised from stalls will go towards replacing the lighting system in our school hall, which dates back to the '60s.

PTA chairman Alison Sampson said: "We carry out regular fund-raising activities throughout the year and this year, all the money we raise will be going to replace the lighting system."

Organisers have promised fun and games for the kids, stocks and sporty games along with the traditional favourites of refreshments and tombolas.

And the youngsters will also be performing on the stage.

Entry is fee.
