Spring opening: Wisbech’s Peckover House gardens

GARDENERS at a historic home are preparing to welcome visitors to admire some early spring flowers.

The seasonal opening of Wisbech’s Peckover House gardens will allow visitors to soak up the scents and colours of the first days of spring.

Even though the winter is still with us, initial signs can be seen in the many varieties of hellebore, the snowdrops and a host of other colourful bulbs and scented spring plants.

Visitors can stroll through the walled garden with the prospect of hot soup and warming drinks in the Reed Barn tea room afterwards.

The open days are on February 11 and 12 from noon to 4pm. Last entry is at 3.30pm. Normal garden admission applies. For full details contact the National Trust’s Peckover House on 01945 583463.
