Half-term fun for your kids to enjoy

The story follows the sailor of the title, who is framed for stealing the valuable tiara from the princess. His subsequent banishment from the town means he must sail away to seek his fortune.

Lionel Bart's Oliver! has captivated audiences since its first appearance in 1960, and will now be brought to life by a cast of youngsters from across the city, just in time for half-term.
Peterborough Regional College Musical Theatre Company returns to the Key Theatre from until Saturday, February 16 with a musical that is still a favourite of many after the 1968 film version starring Ron Moody as Fagin.

EVERYONE'S favourite engine, Thomas, will be celebrating the half-term holidays next week by pulling carriage-loads of children between Wansford and Yarwell.
Thomas' first steaming of the new year begins from 10.30am tomorrow, with services from Wansford Station also running on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17.
Departures are at 10.30am, 11.50am, 1.30pm and 3.20pm at weekends and at 11am, 12.45pm and 2.30pm midweek.
Family ticket prices, based on two adults and up to three children, start from 26 midweek and 32 at the weekend. Shoter journey fares are also available.

EVERYONE loves a good yarn, and a new exhibition at Peterborough Museum will explore the myths and legends that have captivated countless generations of people.
Throughout half-term week there will be daily drop-in activities each weekday morning between 10.30am and 12.30pm, themed around Myths and Monsters. Children can make their own model dragon, dream-catcher or totem pole to take away.
In addition, the Peterborough branch of the Wildlife Trust will be running Robin Hood-themed wild play sessions at the museum on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 2.30pm, and from 3pm to 4.30pm both days. Children will be able to make learn how to make their own forest hideout using natural materials.
There will also be a chance to come face to face with some fascinating creatures, with real hunting birds and falcons paying a visit to the Museum on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings between 10.30am and 11.30am.

On Mondays it is open from 10am to 5pm during school holidays, 12pm to 4pm on bank holidays, and is closed during school term times. Admission is free of charge.

Table tennis sessions for young people with a range of learning, sensory or physical abilities are also being offered at Bushfield Sports Centre from Monday to Friday from 10am to 11.30am at a cost of 2 per session or 10 for the whole five days.
There will also be an opportunity for young people with a range of learning, sensory or physical abilities to experience fishing at Decoy Lakes at Whittlesey on Tuesday from 10am to noon for a cost of 2.50.
Activities at the Bushfield on Monday and Tuesday focus on football from 8.30am to 12.30pm and rugby from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. On Wednesday, there are youth circuits in the morning and table tennis in the afternoon. Thursday features badminton and dance and on Friday there are basketball and goalball sessions.
Activities at Werrington Sports Centre are also being held from 8.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 5.30pm each day. There are netball and table tennis on Monday; netball and dance on Tuesday; badminton and cricket on Wednesday; basketball and multi-sports on Thursday; and badminton and basketball on Friday.
Suitable for youngsters aged from eight to 14 years, the activities cost 60 for all five days for one child; 108 for two siblings; and 153 for three siblings. It costs 14 for one full day or 7 for a half-day. For more information call 01733 742525.
Free tickets are available now for Roald Dahl's Revolting Roadshow, which will form the basis for a one-hour session of stories and fun activities for youngsters aged from seven to 10. It will be held at the following libraries:
Monday from 2pm to 3pm – Werrington; Tuesday from 11am to noon at Stanground and Orton and from 3pm to 4pm at Eye; Wednesday from 10am to 11am at Dogsthorpe and from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Thorney; Thursday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm at Bretton and from 4pm to 5pm at Hampton; Friday from 11am to noon at Central Library and from 3pm to 4pm at Woodston.
