Food lovers are in for a treat when Oundle Christmas Market opens for business on Saturday (December 6).
A mass of stallholders are expected, selling delicious treats and goodies for your festive table.
Whether you’re after gourmet sausages, pies or charcuterie, or cupcakes, Christmas puddings, cheese and handmade chocolate, there’s bound to be a stall to suit your tastes.
And store cupboard basics are also covered with stalls selling coffee, oils, dressings, pickles and preserves – perfect accompaniments to the main meals over the holiday period or those inevitable but comforting left-over snacks.
And for those who get a bit peckish while shopping, there’s a hog roast, venison and bison burgers or gourmet hotdogs, as well as mulled wine.
There won’t just be food on offer, of course, with gifts and cards, jewellery, handbags, accessories and novelty goods.
Starting at 12 noon, the market runs until 7pm and the town’s Christmas lights will be turned on at 6pm, Santa will be in his grotto, there will be carol singing, a fire-juggling stilt-walker, children’s fairground, and Yarwell and Nassington Brass Band.
