Author Jeffery Deaver, who has gripped many readers with his tales of crime, and inspired Hollywood directors, is coming to Peterborough.Jeffery Deaver will visit the John Clare Theatre, in Broadway, on Thursday, July 24 from 1pm.

Fans will have the opportunity to listen to the author talk about his work, have their questions answered, and have copies of his new book signed.

The writer's most popular character, Lincoln Rhyme, is a forensic detective who has appeared in eight of his novels.

One of his books, The Bone Collector, has featured on the big screen.

Reading promotion and events co-ordinator Gill Benedikz said: "It's fantastic for Peterborough to be able to welcome such a great author. It goes to show how respected the city is by the publishers.

"People may be more familiar with the main character than the author himself, as the detective was played by Denzel Washington in the Bone Collector.

"Every person takes something different from reading a book.

"Some will be particularly interested to find out more about the main character, while others will love the way he makes the plot twist and turn."

Tickets cost 3, 2 concessions, and are available from the Central Library or Waterstone's in Bridge Street.
