Nice way to jazz up your Sunday

A NEW jazz club will open in Stamford this Sunday, 28 june.

A NEW jazz club will open in Stamford this Sunday, 28 june.The Voodoo Lounge will be hosting the events on the last Sunday of every month.

The first gig will take place this week, and music will be provided by house band, The Jeremy Watson Trio.

The trio plays hard swinging jazz, and is fronted by guitarist Jeremy Watson – who plays in the style of Wes Montgomery and Barney Kessel.

Jeremy is joined by drummer Rick Hudson, who studied under the famous UK jazz drummer Tommy Chase, and has had his own success with Rick Hudson's Boogaloo Band and Loose Juice.

The trio is completed by the double bass player Dave Jenkins. Dave has gained international recognition for his work with the late pianist Oscar Peterson and tenor sax giant Stanley Turentine.

The gig starts at 5.30pm.
