Metal and punk preview: Reel Big Fish, Fell Silent and Stiff Little Fingers

US ska-punkers Reel Big Fish top the heavy roster of metal and rock bands playing in Peterborough over the coming months.Reel Big Fish are no strangers to the city, and will be playing tracks from their latest album Fame, Fortune and Fornication – a collection of 10 cover songs.
Reel Big Fish were one of the more successful bands to emerge in the third-wave ska explosion of 1997.
The ska-punk act formed in Huntington Beach as a trio consisting of vocalist/guitarist Aaron Barrett, bassist Matt Wong and drummer Andrew Gonzales.
Reel Big Fish soon developed into a ska act, going through many early horn players before solidifying with Scott Klopfenstein, Grant Barry and Dan Regan and Travis Werts.
The band play at The Cresset on Thursday, 12 February. Tickets cost 14 in advance from www.justwhatyouwantconcerts.co.uk or by calling 01733 265705.
Also just announced by promoters Just What You Want Concerts are shows from Fell Silent and Outbreak.
Fell Silent were main support on the Enter Shikari tour, which stopped off at The Cresset venue last October. They play at The Park on April 17 with support from The Casino Brawl and Blind KidsSee Ghosts.
And fans of Outbreak will be pleased to find out that they will be touring the UK, after last year's one was cancelled due to freak weather conditions in the USA.

Seminal punkers Stiff Little Fingers also return to The Cresset on April 1, with tickets costing 16 from www.cresset.co.uk.
