HIS music has been described as "The Streets meets The Clash", and he is about to play some of the big summer festivals. Before he reaches the green fields of the UK, however, Trip is bringing his live band to The Met Lounge tonight (Friday).

His forthcoming album is a "tragicomic kaleidoscope of city life" as seen through the eyes of a 24-year-old Londoner.

As all the songs on ShortCuts are lyrical vignettes based around life in London's Holloway Road, Trip decided to shoot an entire movie for the album rather than occasional videos for individual singles.

Called DayTrip, the movie was shot by 11 different directors over a 24-hour period.

Before he changed to front a live act, Trip toured the world with Grooverider, Shy FX and Killa Kela as an MC.

Support for tonight's gig comes from Gin Soldiers,Cameltoe and Hot Damn.

Tickets cost 6 at the door from 8pm.
