We asked members of the public: "Should women be allowed to choose to have a Caesarean section without a specific medical reason?"
Tina Stavrides, aged 33, from Hampton Hargate, said: "If it's just to follow a trend, then my answer would be no."

Pippa Scammel, aged 26, from Fletton, said: "Personally, I think a natural birth is best. There should be more support for expectant mothers. Proper mental preparation could help take away the fear of childbirth."

Pam Gibson, aged 21, from Dogsthorpe, said: "I think natural is best. I'm pregnant and when I have my baby I want as little pain relief as possible."

Lesley Corke, aged 45, from New England, said: "I think Caesarean sections should only be done out of necessity. I had one myself for a medical reason."
