My children are eight and 10 years old, and took part last week in the Little Mermaid production.
It was their first time at the summer school, and they raved about it.
The encouragement and enthusiasm from the teaching staff there was brilliant.
With only a week to learn the songs and lines, we didn't know what to expect from the Saturday production, and bearing in mind the age of the children, we needn't have had our fingers crossed.
They were fantastic – a truly professional show.
Also, the three other shows were amazing.
Peterborough has truly got some talented youngsters, and my two will definitely be back for more fun next year.

PeterboroughUkraine cleans upMy husband, John, and I have just spent a week staying with a very poor family in the city of Chernigov, Ukraine, on one of our regular trips to help people affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
We stayed in a very run-down area, and were most interested to watch rubbish collection vehicles arrive at 7am prompt every other morning, weekends included, to take away all the rubbish!
Collections there aren't every other week, but every other day!

PeterboroughDecision not yet made on future of landmark hotelI write to clarify a point made by Liberal Democrat councillor Darren Fower
(Thursday, July 31) "Hotel campaign spurred by support", about the city council's position over the future of the Great Northern Hotel.
I would like to stress that no decision has yet been made about the future of the hotel.
Indeed, at the cabinet meeting in February, members expressly added guidance into the development brief for the Station Quarter about the hotel.
The changes included acknowledging that the building had a distinctive character and was a local landmark, and asking developers to give particular consideration to the retention of the Great Northern Hotel or its frontage as a reference to the city's railway history.
Any plans for that area of the city will, of course, require the usual planning processes, including consultation.

Leader of Peterborough City CouncilMP could back other issues too Good to see our MP helping to deliver a petition signed by 2,000 people.
Will he now publically lend his support to the many, many more people he represents who want to save the Brewery Tap and the Great Northern Hotel from the council's bulldozers? After all, neither are party political issues.
