RE: Now it's the pupils' turn to go on strike (ET, April 26)
When kids start work they might find they only get 30 minute break for lunch.

The easy answer is unless they get free school meals, take a packed lunch as thousand of adults do.
It's cheaper and you can eat it in the playground (if you've got one) in the nice summer sunshine.

Fly the flag the right way
RE: Scouts, Cubs and Beavers on march (ET, April 26).
It was great to see so many youngsters attending the St George's Day Parade last Sunday. Perhaps you could get one of the young Cubs or Scouts to point out to the management that the Union Flag has been flying upside down above the Great Northern Hotel all week.

A fruity and fun way to to raise vital charity cash
I am writing to let your readers know it is not too late to get involved in this year's Fruity Friday on May 16.
Fruity Friday is World Cancer Research Fund's annual event that helps us raise awareness about the health benefits of eating fruit and vegetables.
As well as being a fun way to get across an important message, it also helps to raise vital funds that help us continue with our research and education programmes.
It is a great chance for local people to support a worthy cause. So whether you want to organise a fruity breakfast for your friends and neighbours or make and sell healthy fruity snacks, there are lots ways you can get involved.
For more information about what you can do on Fruity Friday, call 020 7343 4205 or visit www.fruityfriday.org
