I am writing in support of Paston community's bid for lottery funding as featured on page 11 of Friday's ET.
I have first hand knowledge of the dedicated hard working group of people within the community who have put their hearts and souls into the planning of the project, called Paston's Back Garden, which was to be featured on ITV Anglia last night.
The whole thing started from an idea a little girl called Millie had to have a garden where anyone whatever age or ability could go and spend time taking part or just enjoying a haven of beauty and tranquillity.
It will be created and maintained by the community for the community, growing a positive future. The vision is to create a sensory garden with seating areas and an allotment for every resident of Paston to use and take pride in.
The group has had my full support since it first put the application in for Peoples Millions funding. I don't think they ever imagined that they would get through to the final, but what a buzz it has put into the community.
Many people are relying on the project winning the funding so, for once, they can say something positive is to happen in Paston which will benefit the whole community.
I am asking the residents of Peterborough to show their support and vote for the project.
