But as yet that is all they are – pretty pictures.

The people of this city have heard over and over again how Peterborough is to benefit from a billion pounds of investment and redevelopment.

Currently there are no visible signs to speak of – just proposals.

Developers insist submitting new plans at this stage - having taken onboard responses from public consultation – is not a backward step and their vision for the area will be delivered on time.

Something good for the Posh fans

IT makes a great headline – Torres signs for Posh – but more importantly it is a positive step forward in what has been a period of negativity for the club.

For a time Posh fans can forget the sorry Aaron Mclean saga and look forward to the start of the new season with some optimism.

And let's hope the Argentinian lives up to the exploits of his namesake at Liverpool – Posh's opponents in next week's friendly. Read the full story
