IT is good to see Werrington running an annual ceremony to present community awards to those who have done their bit for the area.
This event must raise community spirit no end, and that's a goal worth achieving.

So, well done to members of Werrington Youth Forum for throwing themselves into fund-raising efforts which will benefit everyone, and winning the Good Citizenship Youth Achievement Award as a result.
Clearly, they have been set a good example by people such as 71-year-old Janet Bell, who was honoured for her outstanding contribution to public life as a volunteer on countless neighbourhood committees over the years, and who also made time to fund-raise for Macmillan nurses.
Former city councillor Bob Burke certainly earned his Lifetime Achievement Award for years of dedicated service to Werrington, and to the city as a whole.
It would be good to see other areas following this example from Werrington.
the city would benefit in many ways.
