THE fantastic work done by the Magpas charity – the area's "flying doctors" – is admirable.
They are volunteer medics who turn out to a whole manner of emergencies to help save lives in often the most difficult of circumstances.
The same can be said of the East Anglian Air Ambulance, another life-saving organisation dependent on charitable donations to keep its two helicopters in the air.
The two charities work hand in hand – with Magpas medics manning the choppers – so it makes sense that both should merge.
Presumably both will benefit from a greater sharing of experience and best practice, but the real winners will be those served by the organisations – the public.
