A group of local ladies playing under the name of Peterborough City emerged victorious from a big six-a-side competition at Milton Keynes.
It was the first time the tournament had hosted a ladies competition and it attracted 16 teams.

In the group stages City were unbeaten from six games - winning four and drawing two - and they progressed to the final against hosts Milton Keynes Wanderers with a 3-0 quarter-final victory and a 1-0 win in their semi-final.

And a Stacie Gross goal in the decider proved enough for overall victory.

Throughout the tournament City conceded only one goal thanks to some superb work by Nicola Kuch.

Captain Clare Knibbs said: "The team played excellently and we definitely deserved to win. We all had a great day and enjoyed every minute of it."

Team consisted of Clare Knibbs, Nicola Kuch, Donna Nicholls, Jess Farchica, Louise Nicholls, Stacie Gross, Steph Pepper, Carly Tickner.
