HUNTINGDONSHIRE Regional College have extended their partnership with Posh.
The college already runs a successful Men's Football Development Centre, which is endorsed by The Football League and helps Peterborough United's youth team players with their academic studies as they work towards becoming professional players.
Now, thanks to help from Posh, the college have set up a Ladies Football Development Centre. Posh's football development officer Nikki Johnson and fellow ladies coach Kelly Pickstone from Peterborough United have joined the new centre to coach full-time the ladies squad at the college.
David Lutton, head of sport and sport studies, said: "Bringing Nikki and Kelly in will drive forward the standard of ladies football within the local area.
"Not only will it ensure the very highest standard of coaching for the girls but their huge experience of the professional game will also be a benefit to all the full-time players.
"And with games against some of the country's leading professional ladies sides also in store for the squad, it guarantees that all of the girls get to experience life as a full-time professional athlete while they study. "
The Football Development Centre now enables ladies and men between the ages of 16 and 19 to gain recognised full-time academic qualifications as well as training daily for two hours working on development of fitness and all-round team play under the guidance of UEFA qualified coaching staff.
The Ladies Football Development Centre is still recruiting for the start of the new academic year from September.
