PETERBOROUGH Ladies are just one step away from the first round proper of the Women's FA Cup after a thrilling sudden death penalties success over Woodbridge Town.
Stacie Gross hit the deciding kick as the local side ran out 5-4 winners from the spot after a 2-2 stalemate – but the real Ladies heroine was keeper Lou Nicholls whose spot-kick saves ensured her side hopped over this second qualifying round hurdle.
Boss Maria Rudd was far from happy after seeing her side fall two goals behind in the opening period but they fought back with goals from Lisa White and Donna Nicholls.

Elsje Van Es and Gross then netted before Nicholls produced another save to see the city stars through.
Ladies now face a third qualifying round tie against West Lynn later this month when victory would see them into the hat for the first round proper.
Rudd said: "I blame us trailing 2-0 on too many players drinking and dancing the previous night away, but we sobered up and deserved our goals."
