PETERBOROUGH Diamonds Under 14s saw their Cambs League double dream come to an end.
Dean Steward's city side were bidding to add the League Cup to their league title crown, but they came unstuck 4-0 against a Cambridge Colts side.

Diamonds were 2-0 down at the interval and piled on the pressure in the second period after a Cambridge player had been dismissed for violent conduct.

But it was to no avail as Cambridge overcame their numerical disadvantage to add another couple of goals.

Diamonds: Scarlett Field, Zarina Rogalla, Jade Ramm, Rebeka Pearson, Elizabeth Walker, Georgia Newman, Cassie Steward, Natasha Applegate, Alisha Coleman, Victoria Howchin, Louise Burgess, Sophie Gardiner, Rachel Anderson, Georgia Howsam.

DEEPING Diamonds Under 11s are closing in on an honours double.

With the Fenland League title already in safe-keeping, the sparkling young talents have turned their attention to cup glory.

Deeping booked their place in the League Cup final with a 5-1 triumph over Whittlesey. Amie Ford fired a hat-trick and prolific Yasmin Green bagged a brace as Deeping set up a final encounter against Hungate.

Deeping: Rebecca Warr, Jasmine Maude, Kiera McHattie, Sophie Langan, Amie Forde, Kerry Chawko, Yasmin Green, Chloe Moscatiello, Libby Field, Bex Austin.

WHITTLESEY shrugged off their semi-final disappointment to guarantee Fenland League runners-up spot with a 2-1 triumph over March Hearts thanks to goals by Annie Possnett and Georgia Alegre.

Whittlesey are keen to add to their squad for next season. Anyone interested should contact manager Andy Powell on 351397.

Whittlesey: TJ. Reade, S. Green, E. Johnson, C. Blythe, C. Ireland, L. Anthony, E. Cranwell, A. Posnett, S. Boon, G. Alegre.

PETERBOROUGH Diamonds Blues Under 11s certainly saved their best until last when racking up the biggest winning margin of the entire Cambs League season. The city girls showed struggling Comberton no mercy as they roared to a monstrous 26-0 success to secure second spot.

Defender Lucy Johnson contributed to the goal-feast with a hat-trick after finding the net for the first time all season and keeper Sian Heath also scored during a rare outfield outing.

Diamonds coach Adrian Clarke said: "To their credit Comberton battled to the end but had no answer to our girls. Finishing second is a great achievement that we will look to build on next season."

Diamonds Blues are holding close season trials in a bid to bolster their squad for next season at Under 12 level.

Any girls who would be interested should contact Clarke on 07917 017713 or manager Dave Anderson on 07980 456788.
