ANYONE taking a quick glance into the PSV dressing room after their 2-1 Division Four triumph against Spalding would have thought they had just won the FA Cup.

They hadn't of course but in their own minds they had done the next best thing.

Beca
use after waiting over 18 months for their first ever win it finally arrived on Sunday to the clear delight of everyone involved at the club.

So the smiles on the faces of every PSV player after the historic match were totally justified after goals for Jack Tibbett and Shane Townsend secured those precious points.

Manager Sam Tibbett said: "We felt like we had won the FA Cup to be honest and all the lads came off the pitch with huge smiles all over their faces which is what it is supposed to all be about.

"We have been together for 18 months and only picked up two draws in two seasons so to finally get our first win is incredible and it finally took us off the bottom of the table.

"But the boys still made me nervous as we were 2-0 up and cruising until they got one back and I just though 'Oh no here we go again'.

"We defended superbly, however, with Luke Wetherington in particular playing superbly, while my keeper Paul Noble also pulled off some key saves towards the end to keep us ahead.

"And while we did have some defending to do, I have to say we fully deserved the win and I only hope we don't have to wait another year and a half for our next one!"

AT the other end of the spectrum Wisbech St Mary Purple continued their flawless start to the Division One season.

Mark Miller's Saints recorded their sixth straight win of the season with a 7-0 win against Glinton in which Jonny Hipwell, Dan Symons and Mark Hardwick both hit doubles while Dwayne Hesford was also on target as the home side romped home.

The most pleasing thing for Miller, however, was not that the side scored seven, but that they kept a fourth clean sheet on the bounce.

He said: "They came to defend with five in defence and four in midfield but once we broke them down they fell apart a bit and we could have had double figures in the end.

"That was also the fourth time in a row we have prevented our opponents scoring which with games against the top four coming up and Powerleague in the cup will be vital as it is going to get a lot tougher over the next few weeks for sure."

AND there was good news for the other Wisbech St Mary side - the Yellows - who moved second behind their clubmates with a Danny Emmington goal sealing a 1-0 win at Bourne.
