OUNDLE boss Danny Clifton was at a loss to explain his side's sudden return to form.
They ended a run of three straight defeats when crushing Northampton side Hometech 4-0 in a Northants Junior Cup first round tie.

Ronald Osker started and finished the rout with Matt Goodall and Glen Bolden netting in between.

Clifton said: "After three weeks of being so poor, I can't get my head around how we managed such a good 90-minute performance.

"They were a half-decent outfit by all accounts but we made them look bad.

"It is hard to single individuals out but Rob Bacon was absolutely faultless for us at left-back."

Mick Gale made an impressive debut for Peterborough Sports as they lost at Milton by the same scoreline.

Edvaldo Zacarias was inches away from scoring Sports' first goal of the season when hitting the bar.

"I feel sure the goals will come," said boss Roger Martin.
