Paul Grundy's side collected their fourth win in as many games at Netherton Hawks on Sunday to keep the momentum going for
their own league challenge.
Two goals for Jake Brown either side of a Marcio Martins equaliser for the home side gave Deeping a 2-1 victory and another three points to help them up to fourth.
Stand-in coach Paul Stevenette said: "This was not exactly a pretty match that is for sure. We had to grind out the result a bit and in the end we were grateful to Jake for his touch of class for the goal right at the death which ultimately gave us victory.
"There is no doubt that the Netherton star man was Marcio Martins again who was a handful all match."
JOINT leaders Stamford kept up their 100 per cent record in Division Two with a convincing 7-2 win at home to Wisbech St Mary thanks to goals by Michael Slann (2), Tom Franks (2), Reece Berry (2) and Kieran Milner.
IN Division Three third-placed Eye continue to ensure the Leverington sides don't get it all their own way this season with a 2-1 win against Gunthorpe Sky.
With both Leverington Whites and Blues picking up wins, it was vital Eye did the same and thanks to goals from Connor Mitchell and Robert Bellamy they kept the pressure on.
