UNDER 10
YAXLEY hotshots Robert Rouse and Joe Graham were among the goals again to help their side all but wrap up the White Zone title after a 7-1 win against Peterborough City.

Rouse and Graham both fired home twice to take their combined tally for the season to well over 60 and move the Whites into what looks like an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

While it is mathematically possible for second-placed PSV to nick the crown they will need to score at least 40 goals in their final match to do it.

Because as well as the four provided by Rouse and Graham's deadly double act, Danny Grieves and Ben Symonds also found the back of the net while an own goal means Yaxley's goal difference is far superior to that of their rivals.

So while Gary Warman is refusing to start the celebrations just yet, the Cuckoos boss is not expecting to be disappointed with just two games to go.

"Although we are only three points clear of PSV, we have a game in hand and our goal difference means that in all reality we cannot be caught.

"Of course they could go out and set some kind of record for goals in their last game but I do not think that is going to happen.

"So while we are just champions elect at the moment I expect that to be confirmed next weekend whether we win or lose. Of course it is not just about winning trophies but I do feel the lads deserve this title after all the hard work they have put in this season.

"Now it's straight back onto the training pitch ahead of next season. There is a lot to take on with offsides suddenly coming in so we want to make sure the players are fully prepared for that."

Yaxley face Deaconians and Wisbech St Mary in their final two game of the season.

And Saints warmed up for their clash with the league leaders by smashing 10 past Deaconians.

Hot-shot Regan Brown hit a hat-trick in the romp which leaves Saints fourth with two to play.
