FENLAND and District League Under 9 champions Wasps enjoyed rubbing shoulders with a true football legend after extending their winning ways into the summer.
After landing their league title a little over a month ago, Dave Atkinson's young side from Stanground were soon out pot hunting again - this time at the Great Yarmouth Soccer Challenge.

After two days of high quality football, the Wasps won eight games in two days and overcame teams from Oxford City and Ashmore Park Rangers to take the title which was presented by former Spurs star Clive Allen.

Atkinson said: "After winning the league, to come down here and lift another trophy is just the icing on the cake for me and the lads.

"Clive was first class and the boys have every right to be proud after their moment of glory."

Wasps squad: Trent Stanley, Steven Smith, Liam Ward, Ryan Foster-Smith, Jordan Addcock, Josh Atkinson, Christopher Wade, Alessandro Verde, Adam Bream and Robert Miller.
