RIVERSIDE Blue's first season in the league has not gone entirely to plan.

Back in September Roberto De Lucis' Junior Alliance debutants had high hopes for promotion but after an indifferent start to the season those grand plans have been temporar
ily shelved.

For now it is all about consolidation in Division Two, a cause which received a welcome boost after a 6-2 win at home to Oundle Juniors.

Goals for Taylor Miller-Crane (2), Joe Bates (2), Dalton Smith and Oliver William-Brant secured a result which at least keeps Riverside in mid-table as De Lucis plans for the future.

He said: "This is our first year and we had hoped to be pushing for promotion but after a fairly up and down start it looks like we will have to wait for next season for our big chance.

"For now it is just about trying to get better every week so that come next season we can put together a genuine promotion challenge if possible."

A stunning penalty save from Sawtry Blue keeper Aaron Parak, after goals from Bryn Jones and George Heslop, helped his side to a 2-0 win against Bourne Blue.

FIVE goals for red-hot Glinton striker Brandon Bradley and one for Theo Rowley condemned Division Three leaders March Soccer School to a 6-2 defeat - their first of the season.
