The life of local poet John Clare was celebrated in the village of Helpston, near Peterborough.
Folk and morris dancing groups performed traditional dances outside the Exeter Arms, and staff and pupils from the village school, which is named after him, helped organise a fete with stalls and food to buy.
Peterborough Museum, in Priestgate, also held a John Clare weekend with some of the poet's original manuscripts on display.
