PHANTOMS pre-season steps up a gear tonight with the first instalment of a midweek double header against the Swindon Wildcats.
Colin Patterson's side travel to Wiltshire tonight (face-off 7.45pm) before welcoming their English Premier League rivals to the Peterborough Arena tomorrow (face-off 7.45pm).

And after cruising to easy wins against the lightweight Chelmsford Chie
ftains last week, Patterson is fully expecting his team to be asked some much harder questions by the Wildcats.

"We know this is going to be a far tougher game than the Chieftains and it is very important that we put in a good performance," said Patterson.

"Our pre-season is going well and all the guys seem to be gelling well together, which has really pleased me.

"Against Swindon we of course do not want to lose so close to the start of the season but at the same time we will still be trying out a few things to see how they work."

With Joe Miller out injured and a number of senior players expected to be unable to travel due to work commitments, that means giving the youngsters some much needed ice time.

Patterson added: "We will be giving the younger guys a go as we will be down on a few senior players so it is a great chance for them.

"They did really well against Chelmsford so it will be interesting for me to see how they fare against better opposition tonight."
