SPALDING was the place to be for entertainment with four East League matches yielding an amazing 37 goals.
The club's third team scored 10 of them in a Division Six hammering of Boston thirds as Shaun Dewing claimed a double hat-trick.
Michael Morris scored twice in Spalding first team's 5-3 reverse at the hands of Cambridge South in Division Three and Graham Doades bagged a hat-trick in the second team's 6-0 thrashing of Cambridge City fifths in Division Four.
The club's fourths and fifths played each other in Division Seven with the higher ranked team winning 7-4. Henry Gibbons' hat-trick proved decisive.
Former National League player Paul Tancred's experience is proving useful as Market Deeping enjoy life in a higher division this season.
Tancred bagged four goals in a 5-2 win at Dereham seconds in Division Two to make it six for the season. Deeping have won both matches so far, but trail local rivals City of Peterborough thirds at the top of the table on goal difference.
City beat Saffron Walden 5-2 this week thanks to goals from Chris Porter, Martin Hill, Rob Harrison, Stuart Bond and Matt Bamford.
City seconds maintained their unbeaten start to life in the Premier A Division with a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Havering. Paul Hillsdon scored for City, but they had to withstand serious pressure to secure the point as Havering won the short corner count 17-4.
Wisbech slipped to a first defeat of the season, but they had enough pressure and chances to gain at least a point from their trip to Ipswich seconds. Bradley Apted (2) and Joe Melton scored in a 4-3 reverse.
March fielded just three players over 18 in their 6-3 loss at Ely in Division Three. The home side scored from four short corners and a penalty flick , while Ashley Welland, Josh Birt and Andrew Wright scored from open play for March.
Adam Triggs was the hat-trick hero of March thirds' 5-0 win at Alford seconds in Division Five, but a treble from Lewis Hilliard proved in vain as March seconds went down 4-3 to Alford's senior side in Division Three.
Wisbech fourths showed no mercy to Wisbech fifths in Division Six by storming to a 17-1 win!
City of Peterborough's future appears to be in good hands as their youth teams recorded some impressive wins at the weekend.The Under 18s and Under 15s both made progress in National Cups at the expense of Alford and Saffron Walden respectively, while under nine and under 11 squads won mini festivals at St Ives.
Elliott Stevens scored twice for the under 18s in their 6-1 win. The scorers for the under 15s were Matt Anderson (2), Marcus Howard (2), Nathan Foad and Matt Porter
City of Peterborough Ladies went down to a second successive defeat in East Division One North, 3-2 at Saffron Walden, despite a fine display from goalkeeper Bec Howitt, but newcomer Vic Fiddes secured a point for Bourne in a 1-1 draw with St Ives.
Market Deeping beat Huntingdon 7-1 in the Cambs Premier Division with goals from Janet Eagle-Smith (3), Gemma Catlin (2), Faye Logan and Sarah Smith.
