CITY of Peterborough Ladies thirds enjoyed an emphatic start to their competitive season with a 10-0 win over Cambridge City 3rds in the Cambs Premier Division League Cup.
Ruth Swann, Lyn Tancred, Lottie Jude and Katy Lee each scored twice with Claire Bowtell and Sarah Hillsdon completing the scoring.
City fourths were not in such good form as they went down 6-1 to Cambridge South seconds in the Division One League
Cup.
Bourne won their own second team tournament at the weekend after beating City and St Ives. Tina Hings claimed a hat-trick in City's 3-0 win over St Ives.
Arran Nicholls, Matty Wallis and Gary Howsam all claimed hat-tricks in mens' friendlies. Nicholls bagged his for the sixths in a 7-1 rout of Grantham seconds.
Wallis was playing for March seconds and Howsam for March thirds in wins over Pelicans. March firsts also won, 4-3 against Royston with Jody Betts (2), Josh Birt and Michael Wilderspin scoring the goals.
City sevenths netted in the last minute to beat Market Deeping thirds for whom stand-in keeper Andy Gale performed solidly.
