THE revamped Roger Brummitt Mixed Hockey Tournament takes place at Bretton Gate this weekend.
The popular tournament was thought to have been held for the 50th and final time last year. But volunteers from the City of Peterborough club have kept it going in a slightly altered format.

Sixteen teams will take part including last year's winners Ragamuffins and losing finalists Jurassic Beavers. They will battle it out in groups of four tomorrow (10am) with the top two qualifying for two further groups on Sunday (10am).

The winners of the Sunday groups will contest the final (6.10pm). There is also a plate competition and a fair play trophy on offer.

Draw: Group A - Ragamuffins, Anderson Clan, Market Deeping, LS Galaxy; Group B - Jurassic Beavers, March, Zebras (BGZ), All Mixed Up; Group C - GPO, Tango Strip, City of Peterborough Youth, Almighty Ones; Group D - Beavers, CS Old Sweats, Rebels, Hull.

CITY of Peterborough under 9s and under 11s both won their groups at a tournament at Ely.

The under 11s scored 29 goals in their four wins (7-0, 11-0, 6-1, 5-0) and the under 9s won four games without conceding a goal (3-0, 1-0, 2-0, 2-0).

St Neots, Ely, March and Wisbech provided the opposition. City under 9s have won all four tournaments that they've entered this season.

Under 11s squad: Charlotte Exton, Kia Welch, Ebony Welch, Sam Hurbidge, Ben Isle, Ash Abdulwahid, Euan Gilmour, George Morris. Manager/Coach Richard Herbadge

Under 9s squad: Iuan Williams, Brendan Andrews, Reese Exton, Tom Everton, Jacob Hings, Sammy Scone, Craig Langsdale, Emily Jammima. Manager/Coach Peter Hings

GARY Hales claimed a hat-trick as Long Sutton finished their East Premier B Division season in fine style.

Sutton thrashed rock bottom Redbridge & Ilford 8-1 to confirm a mid table finish. Ben Smith (2), Nick Bailey, Jimmy Harrison and Danny Sisson scored the others.
