The Conservatives today identified more than 600 surgeries they say will be under threat from proposed polyclinics and three are in the Cambridgeshire PCT area.
The surgeries are listed in documents identifying the proposed location for the new-style super-surgeries, housing GPs, diagnostics, therapists and other specialists under one roof.

Tenders being drawn up by all 121 English PCTs propose a site for a polyclinic along with a list of existing GP surgeries in the same area.

Although there would be no requirement to close surgeries, the Tories claim polyclinics would inevitably take patients from existing practices. They estimate the polyclinic programme could result in the closure of about 1,700 surgeries. closing in England.
