UPDATE MONDAY OCTOBER 13: Due to the current financial climate, a number of businesses have asked if the event could be postponed until the new year.
Anyone interested in playing in or sponsoring the event can still register their interest with Liz Clare at the email address or phone number below.
Time is running out for entries to the inaugural Evening Telegraph Golf Day - enter before 5pm, 14th October.
One of the best courses in the region – Elton Furze Golf Club, just outside Peterborough – is hosting the event on Thursday, October 23.
And, in addition to a great day's golfing, there will be plenty of opportunities to win prizes and raise money for charity.
After breakfast in the clubhouse, the first team of four will tee off at 9.45am - not only challenging for the right to be named the first ever winners of the event, but hoping to pick up some prizes along the way - be it nearest the pin or longest drive.
For those just wanting to raise money for a good cause and have some fun there's also a prize for worst gross score!
After the golf there's a light lunch and an early evening meal while the presentations are made.
To enter a team of four (cost £200) contact Elisabeth Clare, events manager, on 01733 588842 or

Entry deadline is 5pm on Tuesday, 14th October. It is a stableford format competition, with the best two scores per hole counting, played off three-quarter handicaps..
