If you are relatively skilled with computers, they are always looking for IT home visitors. These are volunteers who will visit people with sight problems and help them to set new computers up, or sort out any glitches they might be having trouble with.
Volunteers signed up for this position will be called on as and when they are needed.
Also needed are talking books volunteers, to pick up or choose recorded books for people with sight problems.
The charity also needs a transcription officer and braille translators. These people will help produce braille products for around five hours a week. Home- working is available, and full training will be given.
And if you're greenfingered, a gardener to weave their magic in the sensory garden would be greatly appreciated.
And don't forget fund- raisers. When the RNIB is doing something a little bit special it always needs extra hands on board that it can call on for short periods only.
More information on any post is available by calling the volunteering support team on 01733 375450.
They will be happy to chat about any queries you might have, and should be able to point you in the direction of the right volunteering opportunity for you.
